Artisanal AI Assemblies
This project trained the open source 3D-RaSGAN neural network on four hundred OBJs of knight chess pieces to generate a new knight form. Python and Grasshopper scripting helped convert the low-res massing into highly articulated stacked assemblies made of manually designed and milled wood pieces.
Assembled in 12 pieces by a Staubli robotic arm. Hand-fastened to a steel skeleton at 1 meter square.
